Robert Gauvreau is a Chartered Professional Accountant who has worked in public accounting for over 10 years and has been practicing public accounting in his own firm since 2008. Robert is the firm’s business development leader and also oversees the accounting, assurance and taxation engagements for businesses and individuals.

Robert has had much success since 2008, including being recognized in 2010 with a Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award for Entrepreneurship, recognized as the Reader’s Choice, Peterborough’s favorite accountant in both 2011 and 2012, and most recently was recognized in 2014 by the Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce as a Top 4 under 40 business leader in Greater Peterborough.

Outside of Public Accounting, Robert is very involved in the Peterborough community. Robert is a founding member of the Venture North group, a founding member of Startup Peterborough, and is a founding member of the H.O.P.E. Foundation.

Patrick Sweeney, CPA, CA

Patrick Sweeney is a Chartered Professional Accountant having received his designation as a CPA CA in February 2014. He has worked in Public Accounting and with Gauvreau & Associates since March 2011 after moving to Peterborough. Patrick became a partner at Gauvreau & Associates in January of 2017 and is responsible for managing the accounting, assurance and taxation engagements for many of the businesses and individuals who are clients with the firm.

Patrick graduated from Dalhousie University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Commerce, major in Accounting where he achieved Academic All-Canadian honours as a student varsity athlete having displayed exemplary academic performance while also a member of the men’s varsity hockey team.

Outside of Public Accounting, Patrick is an active member of the Peterborough community continuing to pursue his passion for sports, and in particular hockey.  Patrick has been involved with the Peterborough Minor Hockey Association since 2012 and was named Technical Coach of Year 2012-2013 with respect to his role as head coach for the “AAA” Minor Bantam Petes and Coach of the Year 2013-2014 with his role as head coach of the “AAA” Major Bantam Petes.

Adam Crowley is our Manager of Taxation and Advisory Services.  Adam received his CPA designation in 2016.  He has worked in Public Accounting for 5 years and provides consulting, advisory, and taxation services to our business and personal tax clients.  Adam helps our clients build wealth, add value to their businesses and achieve their financial goals.

Adam is a life-long resident of Peterborough and a graduate of Trent University with a Bachelor of Business Administration.  He continues to call Peterborough home with his wife Heather and sons, Brett and Max.  Currently, Adam is completing the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada’s In-Depth Tax Program where he is working towards becoming a Tax Specialist.

Outside of Public Accounting, Adam is heavily involved in the community as a Cabinet Member on the United Way of Peterborough’s 2017 Campaign.  Adam is also Vice President of the Peterborough Baseball Association and is involved with the Peterborough Tigers as a coach.

Tyler Powers, CPA

Tyler Powers received his CPA designation in 2017. Born and raised in the Peterborough area, Tyler was excited to join the Gauvreau & Associates team in March 2015. As a Manager with Gauvreau & Associates, Tyler provides accounting, assurance and taxation services to both business and individual clients.

Tyler graduated from Western University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies, Specialization in Finance and Administration. He received a Western Scholarship of Distinction and graduated on the Dean’s Honour list as a result of exemplary academic achievement.

Tyler focused his studies in finance, accounting and taxation and completed a 16-month internship with the Canada Revenue Agency during his time at University. His time spent working with the CRA has provided strong insight into the Canadian Income Tax act and Canada Revenue Agency processes. Tyler will look to expand on his tax knowledge by enrolling in the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada’s In-Depth Tax Program in the summer of 2018 as he works towards becoming a Tax Specialist.

Outside of Public Accounting, Tyler is heavily involved in the community as the past – Chief Financial Officer for the Peterborough PC Association, a current board member with the Peterborough-Kawartha PC Association, delivering Christmas hampers for the Salvation Army and as a Cabinet Member on the United Way of Peterborough’s 2016 and 2017 Campaigns.

Shelley Sherry

Shelley Sherry is our firm’s Accounting Technician Manager who has worked in public accounting for over 14 years and has been with this firm since its inception in 2008.  Shelley’s primary role within the firm is to manage the bookkeeping, payroll and government remittance filing requirements for the bookkeeping department.  She also assists with the facilitation of monthly and annual financial reporting requirements for bookkeeping clients of the practice.

Shelley was born and raised in the greater Peterborough community and spends her time away from the office volunteering at her kids school and volunteering at organ donation awareness events located across North America.

Cathy Martin joined Gauvreau & Associates as the Client Relationship Manager in July 2013.  As the Client Relationship Manager, Cathy is responsible for managing client relationships and confirming that all ongoing firm engagements are tracked and followed up upon to ensure timely completion.  Cathy is also responsible for initial contact with new clients to connect them with the services and staff members that best fit their business needs.

Cathy has been living and working in the Peterborough community over the last 15 years. Having previously worked with local and regional offices of the Canadian Cancer Society and the Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce, Cathy understands and appreciates the value of a strong and vibrant community.  She remains an active volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society.

Jenn Wishlow joined Gauvreau & Associates as a Junior Accountant in February 2016. As a Junior Accountant, Jenn provides accounting, assurance and taxation services to businesses and individual clients.

Jenn has been living and working in the Peterborough area since she began her undergraduate studies at Trent University in 2010. She graduated in 2015 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business Administration. Upon graduation she earned a position on both the Dean and the President’s Honour Roll, and was the recipient of the Symons Medal which recognizes exemplary academic achievement. Jenn is actively completing CPA coursework as she works towards gaining her CPA designation.

Raman Vauchetski joined Gauvreau & Associates as a Junior Accountant in January 2017. Raman is currently working towards his CPA designation having achieved advanced standing as a result of academic achievement at Trent University. Born in Europe, Raman was excited to settle in Peterborough area and join Gauvreau & Associates. As a Junior Accountant, Raman provides accounting, assurance and taxation services to both business and individual clients.

Raman has studied in Cyprus, France and graduated from Trent University in December 2016 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Specialization in Accounting and Finance. Upon graduation he earned a position on both the Dean’s and President’s Honour Roll as a result of exemplary academic achievement.

Outside of Public Accounting, Raman is heavily involved in the community as the Finance Committee member for The New Canadian’s Centre. Raman is also enjoying teaching accounting at Trent University to a first and second year students.

Valerie Lumley joined our firm in 2015 and works as an Accounting Technician. Part of her role at our firm includes bookkeeping and payroll for multiple clients along with internal administrative tasks. Valerie graduated from the Business Administration-Accounting program at Fleming College and the Office Administration program through Nova Scotia Community College, both with top honours. Valerie is also a member of the Canadian Payroll Association and is currently working towards a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification.

As Marketing Coordinator at Gauvreau & Associates CPA, Ashley oversees the firm’s social media, marketing and promotions, events, and internal/external public relations.

She is a graduate of Loyalist College, with diplomas in both Public Relations and Advertising, Business, Marketing & Sales. Throughout her post-secondary education, she not only graduated with honours at the top of her programs, but was also selected as Valedictorian, and granted several awards including the; International Association of Business Communicators Award/Scholarship, Queen Elizabeth Aiming for the Top Scholar Award/Scholarship, Community Service Award, Strategic Planning Award, Spirit Award, Special Distinction Award, Medal of Excellence for Professionalism and Dedication and was an Advisory Award Nominee.

Before joining the team at Gauvreau & Associates, Ashley worked as the Project Coordinator of Startup Peterborough a grassroots organization that helps support startups/entrepreneurs to gather, learn from each other and get access to invaluable resources, mentorship and programming. She also worked as part of the Admissions team at Lakefield College School, as a Fund Development Coordinator the Alzheimer Society of Belleville-Hastings-Quinte, a Researcher for the Heads of Media, Art & Design at Loyalist College, and various other positions in both in the private and public sectors.

Ashley is also a firm believer of the ‘Laws of Attraction’ philosophy, “that you get back what you put into the universe”, and “pays it forward” within her community by devoting her spare time to various organizations such as; The Riverview Park & Zoo, Kawartha Chamber of Commerce, The Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer Society’s Walk for Memories, Hearts for Haiti, Rotaract, and many others. Ashley is also a registered/certified Zumba Instructor and has been instructing Zumba/Zumba-in-the-Circuit classes since 2012 and has hosted several Zumbathon’s to raise money for various not-for-profits, and organizations near to her heart.
